Cosmos 네트워크는 각각 Tendermint와 같은 고전적인 비잔틴 장애 허용(BFT) 합의 프로토콜로 구동하는 여러 독립적인 병렬 블록체인(존)으로 구성됩니다. 일부 존은 다른 존에 대해 허브 역할을 하여 공유 허브를 통해 여러 존이 상호 운용될 수 있게 합니다. 아키텍처는 Proof-of-Work 대신 대신 고전적인 BFT 및 Proof-of-Stake 알고리즘을 사용합니다. Cosmos Hub의 경제적 보안은 스테이킹된 ATOM 양의 함수입니다. 담보된 ATOM이 많을수록 더 많은 "스킨"이 걸려 있으며 네트워크 공격 비용이 높아집니다. 따라서 본딩된 ATOM이 많을수록 네트워크의 경제적 보안이 커집니다. Atom 보유자는 스테이킹된 ATOM으로 제안에 투표하여 Cosmos Hub를 관리할 수 있습니다.
