Ao contrário do Uniswap, seu foco principal é apenas trocar entre ativos que supostamente têm o mesmo valor. Isso é útil no ecossistema DeFi, pois há muitos wrapped tokens e synthetic tokens que visam imitar o preço do ativo subjacente real. Por exemplo, um dos maiores pools é o 3CRV, que é um stablecoin pool composto por DAI, USDT e USDC. Sua proporção no pool será baseada na oferta e demanda do mercado. Depositar uma moeda com menor proporção renderá ao usuário uma porcentagem maior do pool. Assim, quando a proporção estiver fortemente inclinada para uma das moedas, isso pode servir como uma boa oportunidade de arbitragem. Curve Finance também suporta yield-bearing tokens. Por exemplo, colaborou com Yearn Finance para lançar pools yUSD que consistiam em yDAI, yUSDT, yUSDC e yTUSD. Os usuários que participarem deste pool terão não apenas rendimento dos tokens subjacentes yield-bearing, mas também as taxas de swap geradas pelo pool Curve. Incluindo as recompensas de yield farming em termos de tokens CRV, os provedores de liquidez do pool têm, na verdade, três fontes de rendimento.
