JTO é o token de governança da Jito Network. A Jito Network é uma grande contribuidora para o ecossistema Solana através de seu pool de staking líquido JitoSOL e sua coleção de produtos MEV. Os usuários podem trocar seus SOL por JitoSOL. Em troca, os detentores mantêm a liquidez do SOL e as oportunidades DeFi enquanto ganham rendimento do staking. O JitoSOL fornece exclusivamente aos seus detentores recompensas adicionais da receita de transações associadas à extração de MEV na Solana. O valor máximo extraível (MEV) descreve oportunidades de lucro atribuíveis à ordem específica de execução de transações. Por exemplo, uma grande troca na Orca pode reduzir o preço do pool abaixo do da Raydium ou Serum. Os traders competirão para lucrar com essa diferença de preço e essa arbitragem é considerada MEV. A Jito Foundation foi criada para minimizar os impactos negativos do MEV, distribuir equitativamente os lucros e aumentar a transparência. A Jito publicou um cliente validador de código aberto projetado para criar um mercado competitivo para extração de MEV. O cliente permite leilões dentro de cada bloco para a oportunidade de capturar o MEV daquele bloco. Os traders enviam lances, e os maiores licitantes em cada bloco podem colher o MEV disponível.
