Bitcoin Cash is a hard fork of Bitcoin with a protocol upgrade to fix on-chain capacity. Bitcoin Cash intends to be a Bitcoin without Segregated Witness (SegWit) as soft fork, where upgrades of the protocol are done mainly through hard forks and without changing the original economic rules of the Bitcoin. Bitcoin Cash (BCH) is released on 1st August 2017 as an upgraded version of the original Bitcoin Core software. The main upgrade is the increase in the block size limit from 1MB to 8MB. This effectively allows miners on the BCH chain to process up to 8 times more payments per second in comparison to Bitcoin. This makes for faster, cheaper transactions and a much smoother user experience. Why was Bitcoin Cash Created? The main objective of Bitcoin Cash is to to bring back the essential qualities of money inherent in the original Bitcoin software. Over the years, these qualities were filtered out of Bitcoin Core and progress was stifled by various people, organizations, and companies involved in Bitcoin protocol development. The result is that Bitcoin Core is currently unusable as money due to increasingly high fees per transactions and transfer times taking hours to complete. This is all because of the 1MB limitation of Bitcoin Core’s block size, causing it unable to accommodate to large number of transactions. Essentially Bitcoin Cash is a community-activated upgrade (otherwise known as a hard fork) of Bitcoin that increased the block size to 8MB, solving the scaling issues that plague Bitcoin Core today. if some 110 proponents would put their money where their mouth is, we could make them pay for the boat party when cypherpunk summer starts🌞 (by shorting their fork, and buying more BTC!) (there's effectively no bid, the open interest with BCH & SegWit2x was > 100,000x more)

I respect the BCHers because they actually believed in their fork/vision, and they sold their BTC for BCH. If BIP 110ers don’t sell their BTC for BCHJr then they are just massive larps and they truly don’t believe anything they are saying, and I will have 0 respect for them.

I'm old enough to remember the summer of 2017 and the infighting that led to the Bitcoin Cash hard fork. Bitcoin went on to 20x that year.

1) The OP_RETURN limit was never 80 bytes, that was a relay policy. 2) Inscriptions / 4 MB JPGs have nothing to do with OP_RETURN 3) 110 doesn't stop all of the tricks for encoding arbitrary data. 4) The conflict over arbitrary data actually dates back over a decade. 5) A tiny minority can't bluff t

Yes. We lost some good people in BCH camp. They leaned non-technical/economic Austrians. We got some of them back but we lost a good number permanently. Then a subset got bamboozled by BSV, which was eye opening to me that formerly solid bitcoiners could be sucked into a cult. I also personally hav

Mining Profits Dry Up Across Bitcoin, DOGE, LTC, and BCH

Tell that to the SpaceX welder millionaire. If you were around for both the ETC and BCH forks, the combined market caps both went UP after the fork. This is because value WAS created... specifically, both times a new blockchain was created and 2 groups of people got a network that worked the way t

Fair question my bro and it's the strongest one there is. But it's the Bitcoin fork debate all over again. The code was always copyable. A thousand BTC forks exist. Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, there've been so many of them, and none took the monetary premium. Money is a coordination game. Value pools ar
