Helium es una red de máquinas descentralizada impulsada por una blockchain física. La red es creada por gateways que también actúan como mineros en nuestra red. Estos operadores de gateway pueden ganar tokens según la cobertura que proporcionan, así como tarifas de transacción obtenidas de las máquinas que se conectan a su gateway. Helium es una nueva criptomoneda. Los Hotspots ganan por proporcionar y validar cobertura inalámbrica y cuando los dispositivos en la red se conectan a internet a través de Hotspots. Helium se mina y distribuye a los propietarios de Hotspots, Helium Inc. e inversores. No hay pre-minado de Helium, y cada mes se acuñan aproximadamente 5,000,000 de nuevos Helium. Al final de cada período de minería, aproximadamente cada 30 a 60 minutos, Helium se distribuye según la asignación mostrada:
