Peter Todd is a Canadian cryptographer and software developer who was an early contributor to the development of Bitcoin. Todd has been involved in cryptocurrency since the early s and has worked on blockchain and privacy-focused projects. The HBO documentary Money Electric: The Bitcoin Mystery named Todd as Bitcoin's pseudonymous creator, Satoshi Nakamoto. Todd has publicly denied being Nakamoto.

It's trivial to set the # of confirmations to get a reorg risk low enough that non-probabalistic factors dominate. Similar to how it's easy to set # of bits in a hash function high enough that other factors dominate. E.g. OpenTimestamps by default uses 5 confirmations, which is higher than any prob
